50th Anniversary Logos

Boy Scouts Troop 450 celebrated their 50th Anniversary on June 9, 2012. In commemoration of this significant event, they wanted to create a new logo for their neckerchiefs, as well as a special commemorative patch. I volunteered to take on these tasks, which eventually grew to include T-Shirts and a banner.

The new logo for the neckerchiefs is an updated design based on their previous logo. The key graphics have been replaced with more realistic-looking graphics, and the mention of their inaugural year was added to tie in with the 50th Anniversary.

The special commemorative patch was an entirely new design. I chose to do a classic and simple design, and used 4 solid colors: White, Red, Duranodic Bronze, and Metallic Gold. These colors were changed slightly for the T-Shirts.

While doing these designs, we decided it would be great to have a big banner to hang above the stage during the event. I used elements from the neckerchief design, as well as the full commemorative patch design, and it all tied together quite nicely.

Everyone loved the final results. In fact, Renee Gibb, the Troop Committee Chair, Had this to say: "Todd presented us with several patch ideas for our celebration, and helped us choose one that best fit our celebration. The design captured the essence of the day perfectly and everyone present was thrilled with the product. Todd has also designed t-shirts, banners and placards for our use. He was terrific to work with through the entire process."
