Pitch
A girl named Luna seeks freedom, but is forbidden to go outside of her room. Frustrated, she bangs on the wall, and a crack forms. A secret passage that leads to her dream is shown, and her new adventure begins.
For my Animation Summative, we were asked to make a short animation (20 - 60 sec), and to include the 12 Principles of Animation in our work. My goal for this project is to make my animation at least 1 min. I will also be using Adobe Flash, and Clip Studio Paint for majority of my work.
• Luna (Main character) wakes up.
• Candle on the bedside table is shown.
• Luna lights up the candle.
• Beauty outside is shown.
• Lies down on bed.
• She kneels down on her bed after a couple of seconds and bangs her wall out of frustration for not being able to be free.
• The area of the wall where she banged on cracks, and a secret passageway was shown.
• Luna opens the door
• In the end of the path, she sees the ocean glittering in front.
• She walked slowly to it, knelt down on the sand, and felt the water.
• Tears fell down her cheeks because for the first time, she was able to be free.
• The first tear fell on the water.
• She wakes up on her bed.
• Candle (little wax left) fire dies.
Storyboard
Here are the sketches that I made over the Winter Break for my storyboard. I might make a few changes on some scenes, but here's the general idea.
NOTE: I forgot to include the title and credit scene! Oops..
Updated Storyboard:
Unfortunately, I had to remove some scenes because I had no more time left.
Concept Art
Here is my concept art for my main character, Luna.

Part 4: Final Animation
This was a challenge for me because at the start, I did very detailed work, which left me with little time to work on other scenes. I had to cut some out from the storyboard, and left what I think are the most important parts.
I definitely learnt that if I wanted to do more detailed work, I should've grabbed a partner along with me to split up the job. I also should've worked on my time management, knowing that I could only use Cintiq, and the programs that I needed to make the animation possible in my animation class.
Overall, I am pretty proud of the outcome, and I thought that even if I was struggling most of the time, this Summative is honestly one of the funnest thing that I have ever done. c:
