The centerpiece of the upgraded space is the Jordan Brand Shoe Wall where all 31 Air Jordan sneakers, custom-made in Tar Heel Blue, are displayed near the entryway to the locker room. In this one-of-a-kind display, North Carolina connects a school legend and an iconic brand to audiences interacting with the space.
The Jordan Brand Shoe Wall adjoins a hallway featuring profiles of North Carolina legends. Printed fabric images of Tar Heels stars such as Jordan, James Worthy and Tyler Hansbrough are displayed behind custom perforated metal to give the displays an elite-level finish. The spaces are tied together by an abstract design inspired by North Carolina’s argyle pattern. Murals of Carolina greats by decade in player lounges, quotes from former players and coach Roy Williams’ mantras serve to inspire the Tar Heels throughout the space.
