Kentucky Derby Museum Rebranding

The Kentucky Derby Museum, sitting on the steps of Gate 1 at Churchill Downs, is one of the region's premiere tourist attractions. Opening it's doors in 1985, the Museum has welcomed over four million visitors from all around the world.

The Museum has gone through four re-branding processes throughout it's 31 years, and I had the opportunity to lead the latest re-branding venture. Since 2009, the brand presented a kid-friendly, cartoonish feel. My team and I felt it was time to move towards a modern and universal feel where every guest felt it was a place for them to visit.

The new logo, created by Doe-Anderson, set the stage for the color scheme and font choice. From there, I created brand standards to unify the collateral and present a mature, organized and bold look.
