Hybrid Morphology
Digital art
This piece is part of a series of works where I have been investigating imagery that explores the connection, similarities and interstices of all types of biomorphic, botanical, organic shapes, patterns and symbols. I am inspired by the design and symmetry of the artistic designs this imagery bring to my creative mind and artwork. I begin my artistic process with imagery that I collect and create using fine art techniques such as drawing, painting and photography, and later combine it with computer generated imagery which will be further digitally manipulated using compute graphics software. I am fascinated with the visual imagery of insects, mathematical and molecular formulas, botanical and biological morphology. I am drawn, literally, to the strange beauty of these object’s patterns and shapes. I let them speak to me and am inspired by their strong imagery. I process and translate the imagery via the computer to create my artwork.
