Painted Burrobot: A LabView-Controlled Painting Robot

This robot was designed and built for our month-long final project in our Advanced Robotics class. I worked in a group of four with the goal of creating a robot that could take a picture and reproduce using paint. We used LabView to process the image, creating continuous "blobs" of segmented colors (light skin, dark skin, hair, and clothes). Then we mapped XY coordinates from the blobs in order to create an index of brush strokes necessary to paint. Finally, the XY motion was coordinated with brush actuation, refilling, and color changes to produce the required image. The final process was fully automated.
Please note that the above is an extremely brief description of our project and process. I encourage you to visit http://paintedburrobot.weebly.com/ for our full project website, which includes a narrated timeline of our project, full code documentation, and more pictures and video!
