The metro/bus/train company from the city of Porto created a contest where they wanted a fresh image for the card, while maintaining the same logo that was being used before.
They asked for something that we could associate with mobility, empathy and modernity.

To create empathy with the public, I considered that there's nothing better than portraying the city monuments and the most well known places that you can reach with Andante. That applies to any city in the world but, in Porto, people really love and defend their city with all their strengths, it's just a cultural thing.

For mobility and modernity 
I decided to do a rework of the city transportation map, to create a texture on the background, as you can see in this detail of the card.

As for the colour I decided to keep the blue and gold that were being used. Blue is basically the chroma from Porto and since this was a project that was entirely dedicated to the city the colour just couldn't be other.

It was also a requisite to create a mupi to communicate the new image...
