The inspiration for this set stems from the mythological figure of the Salamander, a spirit of nature belonging to the element of Fire. They are lively creatures and darting with the ability to bring to life the flames in various forms and intensities, those shining, warm and radiant as the globes and the sun's rays to those burning and crackling of the flames, like the bonfires languages or candles. They are positive symbols and Benvenuto Cellini says that a salamander was always present in the flames of his fireplace, and in his childhood home he happened to see one too.
The photographs were taken with mixed light and with the technique of long exposure to enhance the wakes and the color of the element fire and to make 'real' the element domain by the model.
