The final project for this class was the creation of a pavilion on a fictional site for John Hejduk's House 10. I also designed a sunken garden system, pictured in the 1/64" = 1' site plan. The final iterations are shown below:
The following pictures depict the design process for this pavilion, beginning with the the first project completed in the class, and ending with additional iterations of the pavilion. Unfortunately at this time, images from some projects are unavailable.
Project 3a:  Color Abstraction and Landscapes.
This project included eight drawings experimenting with color and abstraction, Five of the drawings were a series of abstractions inspired by Piet Mondrian, three were experimentation with pointillism.
Project 4a: Prouns
Using the shapes created in the color studies of project 3b, "prouns", or 3D color abstractions, were created as a base design for a lstructure that would eventually become a pavilion.
Project 4b: Larger Prouns
The prouns from part 4a were recreated at a larger 1/2" = 1' scale. Model making techniques were refined, and stylistic changes were made to add formal transformations and to choose and orientation.
Project 5a: Pavilion Concept
Using site maps provided, a concept for the location of the pavilion was thoroughly planned
Project 5b: Initial Pavilion Model
The site for our pavilion was modeled as was the first concept for the final pavilion. Changes were made to adjust the pavilion to interact with the physical site
Pavilion 5d: Pavilion Drawings
The final representations of the pavilion were drafted and diagrammed with the best way to represent the pavilion to critics during the final review in mind.
Project 5e: Final Pavilion
The final model of the pavilion was created, perfecting craftsmanship and reflecting changes made in part 5d. An extension to my site was also created to depict the new location of the pavilion shown in my drawings, as well as to better depict the importance of the stairs and the garden to which they lead to the overall pavilion structure.
