As a child, my family had a pet canary named Chappy, and every day at 6am he would sing his little heart out for 5 minutes or so. Mum and dad were getting pretty angry because his cage was just at the opposite end of the hallway from their bedroom. So we decided to get him a friend to keep him company, and he stopped singing. I thought it was a little sad because it sounded beautiful, but at least then everyone was getting their sleep.
