SHAKESPEARE LIVES IN 2016-Sonnet exchanges-
WORDS : Ben Wilkinson
ART : Sung Goo Won

Since you left me, my eyes play tricks each day;
I try to go about my life and live
but I can’t see for seeing things this way;
in all I see, this single thought won’t leave:
whatever my gaze hangs onto and holds –
doves, a windblown tree, almost any shape –
it delivers to the heart, heartsick and old,
this fevered vision it cannot escape.
I might chance upon heaven, or purest hell,
see finest beauty, or the worst of man;
I could watch the sunrise ordarkness swell,
but all takes the shape that only you can.
Empty of all for being full of you,
my spirit shows only what the heart finds true.
