OPPORTUNITY
Redesign a company of choice and create touchpoints.
 
SOLUTION
I redesigned Skullcandy, a leading headphone company.  I wanted to make sure my redesign attracted the target audience: teens and young adults in the action sports scene. I also wanted to incorporate Skullcandy’s social advocacy into the redesign of the company.
 
“Empulse” is the combination of “impulse,” “em–,” and “pulse.” “Pulse” can refer to the pulse of the sound waves coming from the headphones as well as the increased heart rate that is caused by action. An impulse is an automatic reaction to one’s surroundings. “Em–” means “to put into.” Thus, Empulse means “to put a pulse or impulse into action.”
