Architecture Diploma Project_ Issues of Palempsist - The Moskof Street building

The building is located at the junction of Moskof Street and the Republic Square in the area of Vardaris and is a representative example of the modern movement in Thessaloniki of 1930s. The excavations in the plot revealed warehouses of the early Christian period which served the old harbor and the Golden Gate.

The Republic Square of Thessaloniki is a historical urban space of the city. Nowadays the function of a square barely exists. Vardaris (aka) is an unwelcoming passage to the city centre. (above: watercolor topographic illustration)
