Hand Woven Funeral Pall

Hand Woven Funeral Pall
Commission for St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hampton, VA

A pall is placed on the casket when it is in the church. It signifies the baptismal garment reminding us of our salvation through baptism into Christ as the way in which we enter heaven. It also serves to conceal the casket so that it makes no difference if it is the plainest pine box or the fanciest the funeral home had to offer. All are equal in the eyes of God.

Approximate size is 10 feet x 7 feet
Coordinating pall for cremains.  Hand woven of white textured cottons, metallic, and ribbon.  Predominately white graduating to gold to form center cross. Crocheted edging.
