Baby Cairo is a coming of age story of a young Greek boy in Alexandria (Egypt), Baby Cairo is a feature film offering a colorful and comedic glimpse into the lives of a closely-knit Greek family in pre-Nasser Alexandria. Narrated by the now adult ALEX, who has returned to Egypt to work as a photographer, the film follows the funny and endearing adventures of young Alex in the cosmopolitan Alexandria and Cairo of the early 1960’s.
I created a brochure which accentuates the film’s center stage, the Hotel Baby Cairo, run by Alex’s eccentric great-aunts, KOKO and KIKI. The hotel is a multicultural meeting point and launch pad into Egypt, connecting characters from around the world.
Baby Cairo follows the life of an impressionable youngster striving to find his way in a chivalrous and lighthearted world, one, which he soon realizes, is about to be replaced by something new and unknown.
