One of my uni projects was to redesign a series of book jackets. I chose the Terry Pratchett death series, and used the iconic hourglass carried by the character of Death to show the life of the protagonist slipping through it. Terry Pratchett uses lots of footnotes in his book, so I used an asterix to link the title to the blurb on the back. The Discworld where the books are set is a quirky, semi-medieval world, so I hand drew all the type to echo this. My original illustrations were linocuts.
