Paolo Coppolella, the maker of Coppolella clothing, gave me some photos of his T-shirt collection. I combined the T-shirts' slogans with contrasting graphics. For example, the slogans were: Nothing, Born to lose, Sorry but no; and I designed a typographic pattern with the opposite meaning to make a contrast.
For the T-shirt with a slogan “Nothing” I made a contrasting pattern “Everything”; for “Born to lose” I made “Born to win”; and for “Sorry but no” my pattern said “Truly sorry”. To make an even bigger contrast, I retouched photos to make them look like an old black and white analog photos, and combined them with a digital vectorial typeface. This way, the photo-typeface contrast stands out even more.
