ACJC Orientation Shirts 2017 | Branding

As a part of the graphic design club from my school (Anglo-Chinese Junior College, ACJC), I was tasked to design the tee shirts for ACJC's 2017 Orientation for the incoming freshmen and leaders, and the theme was to be 'Tribal'. The tribes were Aria, Pyralis, Aquarius and Ziemia, one for each 'element'. The freshmen would be grouped into these four tribes for their orientation. These are the designs that I proposed. I took 4 days for research and 3 days for each design. The finalised designs and research and planning processes are documented below.

Process
Firstly, I was excited to come up with the design because of watching the Avatar: The Last Airbender series. I referenced numerous tattoos and different patterns of tribes, particularly the Polynesian tattoos (and their possible meanings), flame designs and common tattoo designs. This part took four days. Being seventeen-year-olds, my juniors would definitely appreciate the style.

Next, I took to Photoshop to trace my sketches, making multiple drafts using brushes. After that Paths were made to make smooth shapes. I did not expect the tracing to take so long. It took up to five hours to create the paths for a quarter of the circle!
Tedious tracing taking place
Finally, after all the paths were made I masked the watercolour texture I made on paper by myself to get the lovely final products. They were then sent for approval and printing.
Oh boy that's lovely
Thank you for viewing and appreciate if you deem fit.
