BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year contest is an event held annually bythe BBC Wildlife Magazine in the UK. The purpose of this event,
is to attract artists both from the UK and the rest of the world that are interested on creating art about wildlife. Artists compete with artwork made in analogue techniques exclusively. Winners get their work published in the magazine and the images are exhibited in several locations. This project began with the creation of a single image that was sent to the 2012 version of the contest. The illustration titled Tigers was selected as finalist by the jury for the international artist category in the subject Endangered Species. From this illustration I created the series of three that comprise this project. The magazine cover design and the interior pages were designed only for the project, this was not an assignment requested by the magazine. The three illustrations were created in graphite pencils in a vertical format measuring 50cm x 70cm each.
