I had the incredible honor of designing the save the dates and invitations for my friends summer wedding. I truly enjoyed working on this project because she wanted a very classic feel with a modern update. As a couple they didn't want anything to feminine or too masculine. They had decided on antique gold, charcoal gray and mint as the colors to shape their love story.
The save the dates were very unique. The bride and groom definitely had a story to tell but they didn't want to use any photographs. Instead I used typography and illustration to announce the celebration of their love.
The classic and elegant style of the brides wedding dress was a major focal point for my design. I was there, as a bridesmaid, when she first tried on the gown and everyone immediately knew that this is was the dress she was going to walk down the aisle in. I wanted her to look at my invitations the same way she looked at this gown.
I am so glad that I got to be a part of this beautiful day, not only as a bridesmaid but also as a designer.
Recognize these programs? The bride also had me whip these together last minute and I think it really helped pull together all stages of the wedding process.
