Cupid and the clock

Cupid And The Clock
This is my first animation. Working with the Wallace Collection Museum, I created the 30-second animation to tell the story of the object I picked from the museum.  The object I picked was a French Rotating Dial Clock. The 18th-century clock is dominated by the bronze figure of Cupid, who is depicted standing on two books and encircling a sheaf of candelabrum branches with his left arm. The presence of Cupid and the use of poppies, a source of opiates, implies that the clock was probably intended for a bedroom.
My story is inspired by the story of Cupid and Psyche. In the story of Cupid and Psyche, when Psyche opened her eyes to see Cupid (himself invisible), it so startled him that in his confusion he wounded himself with his own arrow. Heedless of his wound, he fell in love with Psyche. In my story, at the moment Cupid shot the vase, he also wounded himself with his arrow so that Cupid had an uncontrollable desire to love the vase.

Interactive Game
If you were shown a clock or watch face without any numbers, would you be able to tell the time using only the position of the hands? Today, we are so accustomed to telling time using a round clock face that most of us would be able to decipher the position of the hands without much difficulty. However, what we take for granted now wasn’t always the case. In eighteenth century France, for example, clockmakers experimented with many different ways of visualising time.
This is an interactive game for the Wallace Collection project. The game aims to show the visitors in the museum how to read the time of a French Rotating Dial Clock. When the game starts, the French rotating dial clock rotates and when it stops, it can show the time. The players need to put the hour hand and the minute hand on the positions that match the time. After that, Cupid shows if the answer is correct or not and explains how the clock visualises time.
