Este es un trabajo antiguo, del 2008. En ese año se estableció el Instituto Confucio (de China) en Perú, por convenio con la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP); el Instituto se dedica ala enseñanza de la lengua china y a la difusión de su cultura.
Se debía representar que China significa más que cultura tradicional, por eso dibujé un país muy urbanizado y moderno tras la Gran Muralla China; por supuesto, no es una realidad geográfica. También mezclé los estadios de las Olimpiadas de Beijing con algunos sitios clásicos como la Ciudad Prohibida. Era necesario que algo simbolice al Perú y a su gente, y en este caso usé el cóndor (mucho más grande que uno real, para acomodar al estudiante en su lomo). El "descubrimiento de China" se da desde el aire, con una perspectiva amplia y que cautiva. Sé que el afiche les gustó mucho, y que incluso el instituto utilizó la imagen para un evento allá en China :)
Hecho con Photoshop y Corel Painter; con mucho tiempo, no puedo dar un aproximado. Ahora podría hacerlo más rápido!

Thisi is an older work form 2008. That year, via the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), the Confucius Institute of China was established in Peru, to spread the knowledge of Chinese culture and the teaching of Chinese language.
We had to show that China was more than traditional culture, so I painted a very urbanized and modern country behind the Great Wall, of course it´s just symbolic and not realistic. I also put in there some modern buildings like the stadiums built for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and some classic sites like the Forbidden City. We nneded to have a symbol for Peru and its people, so I used this giant condor wih an student on its back. We "discover" China from the air, with a vast and captivating perspective. I was told the poster was very praised, and the Institute even used the image for an event in China itself, so I was happy!
Done with Photoshop and Corel Painter; no real way to give a time estimate, it was a very very long process... Nowadays i could do it quite faster!
