Character and Concept Development
Part 1
In this stage, we learn how to develop characters. We did several different poses to make the characters express different emotions by exaggerating their posture, actions, etc. The traits I chose for my characters are clueless, scared and angry.
Lip Snyc
This activity, we learned about all about lip syncing. Using popular characters, we demonstrated how to move tthe characters lips to make them appear as if they are talking. With various references, I chose Charlie Brown and created a lip sync to one of his famous lines. By doing this, I better understand the process of this exercise.
Walk Cycle
We learned how to do a walk cycle with characters. We can either do it frame by frame or by drawing each pose and fill in the inbetweens. Our objective was to draw each pose and fill the inbetweens. This way you save time and easily point out a mistake, compared to drawing it frame by frame. In this video, my character is walking down a street on a sunny day.

Portal Activity
The portal activity is where we learned multiple different tools to create a character going through a portal. Using the bone tool, we connected the parts of our character so it would be able to move realistically. The movement of our character created an armature. Masks were used to make the armature go through the portal, just like the game. Physics in this animation were off as you don't get sucked up by portals in the actual games, but I was curious to see what it would like it if it were the case.
