As a SURFER and multimedia content producer, my work and passions often overlap. My hobbies often inspire my work. Following this train of thought, I want to highlight my love for surfing and how it has inspired some surf related photography and graphic design work. I hope to evolve this project as much as possible and see what I can learn from playing with my work.
This is a Ptrmc Surf Logo I did for a fictional Surfboard company. My initial idea behind the general design was to create something similar to an Atom. I really like the idea of blending science with surfing to create the ultimate sustainable and environmentally friendly product.
Sticker Project: Okinoerabu Surf Island
The overall concept for this project is that I wanted to design a logo/sticker for the surfing community of Okinoerabu island. Okinoerabu is a tiny Japanese Island in the West Pacific/East China Sea/Southern Japan. Okinoerabu is surrounded by All Reef and is only surfable on the High Tide. The surfers here are an extremely dedicated bunch of watermen who love surfing. I wanted to create something for them and also the friendly island community as well.

Recently, I had an idea to design a post mark/post office style stamp logo for the local Okinoerabu surf club. This stamp sticker would be in addition to the surfboard sticker I already designed. It is extremely simple yet highly effective. My inspiration came from Japanese stamps. In Japan people use stamps for many different uses. The main or foremost important use of a stamp is a persons signature. Also, on a side note, it goes without saying that I love the simplistic/minimalist aesthetic of a stamp. For a stamp to be successful it has to communicate its message in a clear and simple manner. I like to think that if you can understand complexity you can communicate simplicity.
