Redesigning Muse Monthly

I have always been a big fan of both literature and different kinds of tea. After all, they just seem to go together. For this reason, I chose to redesign the Muse Monthly subscription box website, a site that mails monthly subscription boxes full loose tea leaves, adult literature, and other fun mystery surprises. I wanted the website to feel warm and inviting, and to bring people in and get them to take a look around.

Research and Inspiration
Before I decided on the scrolling webpage design, I looked at a few other monthly subscription box websites, and found this style to be the most popular. I also did some research into different color schemes and textures that gave me the calm, relaxed feeling that I wanted this website to have, as well as some beautiful, full bleed pictures that I was excited to be able to use.

Logo Design
The logo design for this project was a lengthy process. With so many different forms that books and tea can take, I went through a lot of ideas. I tried incorporating a tea cup and an ornamental border into some of the designs, but it did not work out as well as I hoped. In the end I went with an open book, to better illustrate the thought of enlightenment and inspiration. After all was said and done, I made one final change to my design and replaced the soft pink color with a burnt orange. The burnt orange went along well with my photo choices, and left the website feeling more refreshing than before.
