A city-space project touching on the issue of the condition of Polish utilitarian design. A group of invited graphic designers will tackle
the home-bred output which is an aftermath of the democratic transition of the 1990’s. With the onset of the mythical western-style
welfare, the rich tradition of Polish applied design was banished to history, and city streets were flooded with the tackiness of young
Polish business enterprise.
The project is intended to educate the local residents through a number of design activities, actions, interventions in urban texture, important, topical issues and various forms of presentation. All those artistic and design activities aim to develop creativity and promote civic behaviours of responsibility for the shape of public space. We stress the social dimension, reflecting the modern-day, democratic tendencies of participation in culture.
