The video was filmed in Cambridge, UK while Jake was on his European Tour as a solo artist. "Love'll Never Change" is a driving, band based song. Working off of the message of the song, that love will never change, and the fact that Jake was not travelling with a band I based the video's concept on the transient, temporary and erasable quality of chalk - the antithesis of "Love'll Never Change". The idea was that we would write the lyrics of the song and draw instruments with chalk on a surface in a public space and then invite passers-by to join Jake as his band by playing the chalked instruments with their shadows.
The concept work perfectly - below is a sequence of shots that demonstrates a bit of how this process progressed in real time as we shot the planned but unscripted scenario.
