ABC may need to adapt media delivery for new platforms like ‘smart’ mirrors and shower-screens. The content and presentation will be optimised to account for the person, their body positions, activities and environmental factors like water, steam and noise.
This smart mirror demo below, was created for Future Home Expo shows how ABC content adapts to different modes and activities in the bathroom. If a person is looking directly into the mirror, the content is glanceable and can be controlled without touching a screen, so no need to divert eyes from your face when shaving! The presentation is highly personalised. It knows that they want traffic conditions, not train times; easy-listening music, not talk radio; and tailored news headlines, not just urgent breaking news alerts.

When your body moves to the shower, the media is responsive to your activity, switching to the best available format for that particular story in that moment: a full screen live video about a terror attack in Brussels is a good choice for the shower.
There is an emphasis on providing quality audio experiences; perfect for multitasking! In this future, audio will be enhanced with automatic volume adjustments, and voice or gesture control.
