CASSIOT

A website and identity redesign to elevate the brand and increase its membership.

CASSIOT is a Canadian association for Internet of things industry players. The Internet of things (IoT) is the concept of connecting any device with an Internet connection, think smart home. The team consisted of marketers and developers, with me being the sole designer.

They wanted a website redesign to help elevate their brand and create a better user experience for their audience. It needed to look appealing and, ideally, increase membership to the association, all within a limited budget.

After researching what was already established for the CASSIOT brand, I read on IoT to get a better understanding and studied B2B websites. I designed all elements to align with the desired brand image, ensuring a consistent look across every webpage.

I created a professional and approachable brand appearance, alongside templates for Google Docs and Google Slides. These allowed the team to maintain the brand identity on their own, minimizing dependence on designers. The identity uses a single font and a gradient of blue as the primary colours, with orange accents for call-to-action elements, keeping it simple for easy implementation.

This project challenged me as a designer, working with a new team dynamic. Being solely responsible for the visual identity of a national association was a humbling experience.
