Rhizomatic Structures: Caroline Lathan-Stiefel

Using the work of artist Caroline Lathan-Stiefel, the design for this artist catalogue was inspired by her studies of rhizomatic structures and biological subjects in her woven, textile-driven installations. The typefaces were chosen specifically to contrast her work and each other, as well as accent the scientific nature of her creations. Photographs were taken at the Warp & Weft Exhibit at the Leonard Pearlstein Gallery. A sewn kettle stitch binding was used for the final book to mimic the materials Lathan-Stiefel uses for her pieces. The book features an interview with the artist and a gallery section highlighting her work, with captions including the titles, dates, and materials used. The final spread lists her various awards and recognitions.
A smaller booklet, made from contrasting fiber paper, highlights her sketches and smaller works.
