Anarchy²: A Joes Black Book Submission

Anarchy² is a F/W collection created with the idea that not all chaos is completely chaotic. Designed with the dark aesthetic of Rick Owens in mind, this series explores the idea behind a quote stating “It's a cruel and random world, but the chaos is all so beautiful.”
This collection of looks centers around the concept that even in the most chaotic situations, there is some kind of structure. To convey this, images of dancers in mid motion were used to show organic line and movement while images of architecture are used in juxtaposition to display organized angular lines. Both of these were major influences in the design process by inspiring silhouettes and pushing the idea of balance between structure and disarray.
The collection features a variety of fabrics from soft silk satins, plush wools, faux leathers, to comfy rib knits. Together these fabrics are layered in different manners creating differing shapes from tight fitted to oversized and boxy. Furthermore the combination of textures play off this idea of disorganization yet they work well to create beautifully cohesive designs.
The lack of color within the palette was intentional. Owens uses very little color himself so for this series neutral tones were drawn from images of stonework, oil spills, and decimated buildings.
My target clientele is any woman who wants to feel included regardless of their looks, skin color, sexual orientation, or gender at birth. This idea is what informed the inspiration for the boxed heads. While they are all different in their features, they still remain the same. Anarchy² sells at the designer price point and would be found at retailers like Nordstrom or online at Net-A-Proter.
