Ending Child Marriages in Bangladesh
Using typography we chose to highlight the issue of child marriage in the country of Bangladesh. While we chose to focus on this country, child marriage is a major problem in many developing countries all over the world.
Our poster uses the commonly recognized symbols of a man and child along with bold colors of red and black. We wanted the message to have a clear impact and message without any convoluting factors.
The app is titled “SaySomethingDoSomething.” Users have the ability to create petitions for their personal government and the Bangladesh government to take action, gather signatures, learn how you can volunteer and learn about how child marriages affect millions of girls all over the world.
The other two touch points aim to target families, people with children, brothers, sisters, nieces, anyone who buys toys for the children in their lives. These items remind people of children and what a child bride is missing out by being married at a young age. We partnered with Barbie to create one of-a-kind dolls that would benefit our cause. Proceeds will go towards helping families in Bangladesh avoid child marriage by keeping them out of poverty and their children in school.
