Computer Arts: Snaskified Column
Made during my internship at Snask
Each month, Snask does a feature column for Computer Arts Magazine. During my time working there I had a lot of fun creating the artwork for three columns: December 2015, January and February 2016. The first column - inspired by the legendary rapper and his song - talks about how it's up to us to create changes in our lives to improve it and to work towards what inspires us. For this piece I made a big rapper gold chain with the title, and was inspired by rappers' "Thug Life".

The Color Theory article is about how we shouldn't take color meanings too seriously when designing for brands, because in the end it's all about the overall communication and product, which will define the meaning of the brand to the clients. I wanted the word "Bullshit" to be really eye catching and explosive, so I made it as if someone had thrown something gooey and pink at it.

The third article is about how we can be brave by deciding to act even when we're scared, and how you can be a super hero in your freelance life if you decide to take action during an important meeting or presentation; and not let fear get in the way. Just like Mario when he gets a Power Up. This artwork is inspired some of the most popular Power Ups from Super Mario: Fire Flowers, Super Star, P-Wing, the flying cap, etc.

For each of the pieces I made some research prior to sketching, and then started working with the physical materials: cardboard, colored paper, glitter foamy, felt fabric, etc.
