UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Graphic Design
Year 1 Final Major Project
Brief: Using skills learnt from previous projects, choose from one of five themes to create an outcome of your choice. The outcomes must relate to a professional context and be appropriate for purpose.
For our final project, we had control over our theme, concept and the outcomes we created entirely. My chosen theme was concept of power through religious imagery. I chose to explore this both because of the way that religion influences many people's lives on a daily basis and because it presented many opportunities to develop my work creatively.
For my outcomes, I created three A3 prints, as well as an A5 booklet. My three prints were inspired by symbolism from Taoism, Ancient Egypt and Hinduism. I used a combination of hand generated and digital techniques to create my outcomes, which in my opinion gives them a very finished feel.
