"Over the next 14 years, with 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that universally
apply to all, countries will mobilize efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities
and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind. This complex agenda
is new and unknown to a large number of active Volunteer Involving Organizations and
volunteers in Viet Nam. To ensure SDG agenda as a framework for volunteering, it needs to be clearly communicated to its audience. That is why the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme in Viet Nam launched a Facebook Photo Contest – “Volunteering for Sustainable Development Goals” and invited volunteers to show the world how they contribute to achieving the SDGs by volunteering through posting a photo capturing concrete volunteer’s activities contributing to the 2030 Agenda on UNV Viet Nam Facebook page. 17 pictures with most likes were selected and are now being presented to you, demonstrating the power of volunteers and their contribution to the SDGs."
