Monoprints
Not to be confused with Monotypes
While monotypes are absolutely original, essentially a printed painting, monoprints utilize an etched plate, lithography plate or silkscreen to create unique variations on a theme.

These monoprints utilize a hand-etched plexiglass plate, water-based media, and heavy (potentially too heavy) Rives BFK paper. They were not made with a press.

In this experiment, it became apparent that the wet, inky paper reaches a threshold beyond which printed lines become muddy and the process destroys previous lines and tones. It was very interesting to push the limit.
