'INSIANG' a film by Lino Brocka
Insiang is a 1976 Filipino drama film directed by Lino Brocka, adapted from the teleplay of the same name by Mario O'Hara (who also co-wrote the screenplay), which tells of a young poverty-ridden woman who seeks revenge for those who have ruined her life. The film stars Hilda Koronel, Mona Lisa, Ruel Vernal and Rez Cortez. Insiang is the first Filipino film to enter the Cannes Film Festival.
