Hybrid Tower Urbanism

The typogram was a way of analyzing a range of potential soltuions or ideas that merged the typologies in micro-iterative steps. The typoloies chosen for my project were large office towers and stand alone big box stores. From the intial typogram we analyzed the possibilites for any advantages they possesed in an urban setting.
After choosing a typology we found interesting and potentially useful, we generated more iterations to explore a more detailed range of possibilites. In this case, I was interested in a suspended big box retail store, supported by office and residential towers. This typology then served as a platform to begin thinking about program distribution and structural aesthetic.
