The Black Swan
Brief
Design the logo for a newly opening friendly pub,
which will serve good quality home cooked food, real ales
and play great music.
Solution
From the outset the client gave me some sort of idea of what
he wanted, using the swan as the 's', so after designing a number
of different ideas, I was requested that I must use 'Jenkins' typeface
which I found difficult to work around. But in the end the client was
happy with both the large name for the outside of the pub and he
decided to use an earlier simplified logo design for signage around
the interior. Which simply consisted of a 'b' and a 's' overlapping
with the terminal of the 's' being a swans head.
