Hanal Pixán - Día de Muertos

One of the most iconic dates in Mexico has been the Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos in spanish), in mayan language is named Janal Pixán (Janal (Food) and Pixán (Soul that gives life to the body) or is also written Hanal Pixán, and is the name of the traditional food that is offered to the dead during this commemoration that is realized in Yucatán, in towns and cities of origin or mayan influence.

The most characteristic element of those days is the food, and mainly the typical sweets that are sold in the surroundings of the market of the city where i reside. Calaveritas, mazapanes and small ornaments to mention some, that refer to the celebration of death. With its peculiar alutions, shapes and colors, I decided to experiment with these, creating patterns in combination with other elements from this day.

Fun fact: The best part of this project, was eat all these candies :D
