Graphic Design is a Process
Statement piece, 2011
This is an object that expresses my view on the nature of graphic design.
From research on existing definitions of graphic design and mapping of my own beliefs, I developed a personal statement: Graphic design is a process and its visual outcome but not a result. This statement is visualised as abstractions of three previous design projects as the children's game connect-the-dots. Overlaying of the project's process makes it fairly difficult to tell where the project is going from one dot to the next; to get a feel of how it is when working on a design project. The reader of the book will be able to follow in the footsteps of how I, as a designer, work. The hand bound ‘Graphic Design is a Process’-book imitates the children's game format thus inviting to interaction; giving the reader the opportunity of visualizing three very different design processes from beginning to end.
