Animation College x Foster Hope Animation Project 2016

Animation College Students with support from B.O.A Lecturer Dane Jacobs have created animation for Foster Hope's latest television campaign.

Foster Hope help provide basics for children entering foster care with kits containing a bag, carry all bag, personal hygiene items & comfort items. Working together with Mediaworks Foundation, AC students were given a brief to interpret various voiceovers as they reflected on the moment they first left home.

The campaign runs in 15 and 30 second segments on TV3, as Foster Hope seek donations to help fund the charity. Animation College regularly contributes to animation for social change, with this project being the third that the college has taken part in, in the last three years.

Animation has an appeal which is unparalleled. Our students are discovering that perceptions of what animation is, and the impact it can have, are transformable depending on the subject matter.

Students really enjoyed the opportunity to work on the project and also get to use the finished animation in their showreels.
