As a part of my graduate portfolio I was encouraged to include a personal project. Since I was a kid I’ve always wanted to design t-shirts, and it is a passion I wish to take to the next level post study. Created from brain storming and hand generated roughs, vector illustrations of the design were created. The street style and studio photographs were also captured by me.
‘Yacht Rockers’ is a tip of the captain’s hat to that 80s lifestyle of hanging out at the yacht club, sipping on a cocktail and listening to Christopher Cross records. Trying to keep the graphic as simple as possible geometric shapes were used, and the colour palette is one that is believes to be both nautical and 80s inspired.
‘Set The Pace’ is a digitally created graphic from hand drawn roughs, initially this idea was created using a graphic of a Galapagos tortoise. It was felt by people surveyed the sloth has a cheekier element to it given it’s reputation online these days. This life is short, but we have the choice to live as fast or as slow as we need to for our own tastes.
