Figure/Ground letterforms in a square. The object for this project was to use letters within a square to create an active and engaging figure-ground relationship. The legibility or letters used was not important. In order to create interesting squares I focused on varying the shapes, angles, lines, and weights. 

The image below was created by combining four of the designed squares into one square and creating something with complexity that still managed to work together. 

Adding color to the above image was in attempt to change the hierarchy, the mood, and the way the square is read.
