RALA
Identity and Packaging Design
RALA packaging won both a Silver Addy’s Award and a GDUSA Packaging Design award.
Rala is a clothing design company started and run by two brothers, Rob and Leo Adkins,  that work together as a team of creatives. The older brother is a photographer and the younger one is a clothing designer. Together they create products that are original, adventurous, cost effective, beautiful and fun! Represented in the logo are their initials which created the name RALA. Rob and Leo are the outdorsey type so their brand needed to reflect that. The logo represents mountains and camping while having a hidden meaning where one A is slightly larger than the other in order to represent the older/bigger brother.  The tagline is the hand wirting of the brothers combined to make up the word “You’re Welcome”.

A fitting package design for their products was a pizza box style box as the target audience are millenials.. As a company they wanted the connection to each other, their family, their work and their desire to share beautiful things incorporating into their design. I did so by having their family members hand write specific words which were used to design the package and tissue paper. Doing so, I had the intention of conveying a feeling of commitment to family and creating a sense of longevity to their brand. The products are sold at retail locations such as Pacsun, Forever 21 and H&M.
