Ring of Fire
A new cooking method for rural Myanmar
A colleague and I were tasked to create a more efficient cooking system for individuals living in rural Myanmar.  Our design integrates a pot skirt with thick ceramic insulation to improve the heating efficiency.  The tapered opening allows the stove to hold multiple sized pots and pans so users do not have to adjust the stove in any way.

Our final SolidWorks model
An alternative model that would remove material and allow for easier transportation.  This model uses a metal cage instead of having the flutes integrated into the ceramic housing.
Early Prototypes
Our initial prototype was a thin metal pot skirt to direct the heat from the fire
Another prototype included ceramic insulation on the exterior to trap the heat
