CAMBRIDGESHIRE CALEDONIAN PIPE BAND IDENTITY
___

I was approached by a friend, who is part of the Cambridgesire Caledonian Pipe Band, to assist him in re-creating their logo so that it is usable in print as well as web formats. It was also requested to amend the drones on the bag-pipe to make them more true to the instrument and to adjust the colourway to use a more traditional colour.

Following on from the initial update of the identity, I wanted to experiment with the form and overall look of the band further. I found that after adjusting the treble clef mark used on sheet music that it could be used to replicate a bagpipe. It adds something quite striking and visually different while still remaining true to the integrity of the band. I also wanted to experiment with making the identity more compact and elegant for printed items and instruments such as the drum. Adjusting the form to take up less real estate helped with the overall appearance and to generate a more impactive design.
