Reflection
On the first day of the workshop, we combined with the drama class to do some acting exercises. At first I was afraid to do anything because I never acted before, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. I had fun doing some acting and watching how others acted, especially those from IDM. Later that day, we were taught how to do auditions like how an actual film crew would do. I never did anything like this so it was a great experience. For the second day, we did our actual auditions for our actors and the drama class did great reenacting one of the scenes in our short film. We found two actors after that session that would later on be Eli and Caroline in our short film. On the third day, we started to film some of our scenes. We had to find a location in the school that looked like a house so we filmed in the library where the couches and bookshelves were. I never owned a DSLR camera so I spent all my down time playing around with the settings. One trouble I had was finding the right camera settings to make the footage not look grainy. I also learned what it would be like in a real film set. Lots of communication is needed in order to work smoothly.
