This was part of a project for "Seeing Words" exhibition in Indonesia National Stand at Frankfurt Book Fair 2016. The exhibition consist of interpreting Indonesia literature. We got Pramoedya Ananta Toer's This Earth of Mankind (Bumi Manusia)
“The concept of a quotation book refer to the form of expression, which we feel appropriate on re-telling what the characters are trying to convey within the stories of “This Earth of Mankind”. Each character has a voice, and this voice is interpreted using typography and shapes. This was particularly important for the first of the Buru Quartet, as Pramoedya eloquently depict the analogy of The New Order (Orba), concerns the whole nation against the masked oppresion. 'This Earth of Mankind' is the voice of humanity, relations and mankind.”
