Digital Audio/Storytelling

My favourite aspect of the GBDA program was the opportunity to tell stories through digital audio. I have included three short audio clips of projects I created for various classes at the University of Waterloo.
Camp Wanakita
Camp Wanakita is a seven-minute sonic portrait of another student’s past event that I created using field recordings, voiceovers, original music and foley.
Changing Seasons: Music for Giant Windows
This short four-minute audio clip is designed to be played as ambient sound in the Stratford Campus Atrium. The ambient production is designed to take listeners on a journey through the seasons that represent a school year at the Stratford campus. For this project I used Ableton Live to create, assemble and mix the various sounds. I also wrote the artist description, see below.

A Night Out
A Night Out explores the audio capabilities of the Seinheisser HD380 headset. It is an audio story that explores the limits of what a specific set of headphones can offer. It explores the interaction between the left and right channels and uses Binaural recording methods to create a 3D stereo sound sensation. The Artist statement and audio production are provided below.
